Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus Are Coming this February

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ have all the bells and whistles. Samsung will hold a launch event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 25, where it’s almost certainly going to reveal the Galaxy S9. They didn’t specifically say it, but given the giant 9 on the invitation, we are pretty confident. March 2 is the date rumored for pre-orders in South Korea, according to ETNews, quoting a senior official at Samsung. Learn more about this phenomenal smartphone.

Variants

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be available in the S9 and S9+. The S9+ model will have a bigger screen and a few other features that the S9 doesn't have. There are predictions that the Samsung Galaxy 9 phone will come with a screen resolution of 5.8- inches. It's highly unlikely that there is going to be any changes in regards to the dimensions of the screen.

Design

Samsung phones have always had a streamlined look about them that is very attractive to many smartphone users.

What to expect

The Galaxy S7 has an edge that is curved and it is believed that the S9 will also follow this same design. However, the back edge will be curved even more so that it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

Display

VR or Virtual Reality support is also another expected feature since most of the earlier models also have this feature.

VR Ready Display- It is believed that the handset for Samsung Galaxy S9 will have a 4k display resolution. This is one of the highest resolutions available, and it is believed that this smartphone will be ahead of its time. The Samsung Galaxy S9 will also keep the 3D touch technology, a feature that Samsung is known for.

Always On Display- The AOD feature also known as the "Always On Display" will also be another feature of the S9 model. This feature has undergone many upgrades and is expected to be even better in the Galaxy S9.

Bezel-less Screen- The screen will measure 5.5-inches and will be protected by gorilla glass 4 on the front and backside of the phone. The screen will also be curved and have a three-edge Infinity display.

Screen Size- It looks like Samsung may keep the same screen that comes with the model S8, which is a 5.77-inch and a 6.2-inch display with an Infinite display.

Security

It will also come with a fingerprint scanner that will be embedded in the display. It may also come with iris/facial scanner for added security. It is also believed that both features may be combined to provide additional security.

What's Beneath the Surface

Chipset

It is implied that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with a chipset from Qualcomm. The S9+ model smartphone will also come with the latest Exynos chipset by the time of the launch of the handset.

Storage

In regards to storage, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is believed to have better RAM than all of its predecessors. Leaked packaging shows, at least, 64 GB. This smartphone will also come with a MicroSD card slot which supports extra storage of up to 256 GB.

Camera and Video

It is predicted that the camera will get a major makeover. It is believed that the Galaxy S9 will have a single camera at the rear. The Galaxy S9+ is believed to have a camera with dual lenses. The camera may use an image sensor that helps to take better pictures when there is low light.

This sensor will also feature a high-tech focus for the dual cameras and "high speed captures at Full HD video." The Samsung S9 is also believed to have a feature that enables users to create super slow motion video. Another special feature that is predicted to change has to do with the "selfie" photo and how it will be upgraded.

A source speaking to The Korea Herald said the iris camera lens will be increased from 2 megapixels to 3 megapixels for the S9, helping it recognize faces in more challenging environments, and also when the eyes move during scanning or are behind glasses. The improved iris scanning capabilities appear to be confirmed a recent press release from Samsung.

Battery

It is suggested that the S9 model will have a more powerful battery that is known as the "Super Capacitor." The special feature of this battery is that it will be fully charged in 2 minutes time.

Price

The suggested price for a Galaxy S9 smartphone is slightly higher than the S8 model that is priced between $880 and $920.
